Why We Name Our Writing Mentorship Classes After Precious Stones
At CLC Kenya Writing, our mentorship classes are named after precious stones because we believe every author carries God-given value, beauty, weight, and purpose.
Isaiah 54:11–12
Isaiah 54 speaks of God restoring beauty where there has been affliction. The imagery is powerful: foundations laid with precious stones, gates of sparkling jewels, and walls made beautiful by God’s own hand.
This reminds us that God does not merely repair; He rebuilds with dignity, colour, strength, and glory.
Restoration · Beauty · FoundationsRevelation 21:18–21
Revelation 21 gives us a breathtaking picture of the New Jerusalem adorned with gold, jasper, sapphire, emerald, onyx, ruby, topaz, beryl, and other precious stones.
These stones are not ordinary decorations; they form part of a holy, eternal, radiant city that reflects the glory of God.
Kingdom · Glory · Eternal CraftsmanshipA manuscript may begin like unshaped material in the earth, but through guidance, discipline, prayer, editing, training, and perseverance, the author’s message is refined into something that can bless readers and serve generations.
Many authors come into the writing journey with raw ideas, unfinished manuscripts, hidden pain, untold testimonies, or a strong sense of calling that still needs structure. Through mentorship, what was once scattered begins to take form.
Every Class Name Carries Meaning
Each class name is more than a label. It is a reminder that authors are being shaped, polished, strengthened, and released as vessels of Kingdom light.
That is why our writing mentorship cohorts carry names such as Sapphire, Pearl, Emerald, Ruby, Jasper, Diamond, Topaz, Beryl, Opal, Turquoise, Amber, Jade, and Onyx. They point to the spiritual reality that God takes what is hidden, rough, and unfinished, and brings out beauty, order, strength, and purpose.
Our prayer is that every author who passes through the CLC Kenya Writing Class will discover the treasure God has placed within them, steward their message faithfully, and contribute to a growing library of Christian literature from Africa to the nations.
Every class is a stone in the larger building.
Every manuscript is part of a bigger testimony.
Every author is a living expression of God’s redemptive craftsmanship.
